Mountain-biking in France with

5 - 12 days. average 42 km a day on the plateaus(Causses), Gorges(Canyons) and Valley of the Tarn, the Jonte and Dourbie.  

Many single tracks within the gorgeous parts of the Tarn, Dourbie en Jonte Valleys, surrounded of limestone cliffs. You are following the valleys, sometimes down in the valley, sometimes on top of it along the edge line, some times along footpath hanged onto the cliff. But you are also crossing a limestone plateau on its small trails. The plateau is an arid region with specific flora, land of orchids and of numerous other flowers. Time seems to have no effect on this so well preserved area ...

Many lovely villages, a beautiful pink cave (Grotte Rose of Dargilan), caves of prehistoric cave-dwellers, ancient houses built into the cliff....

A complete package from the airport of Toulouse or Rodez (Ryannair)  with extra transfers from and back to the airport is possible.

This standard accommodation tour has 2 stays in a 2* B&B Hotel in Millau. For a supplement you can stay at 2 km from Millau in a special 2*-3* Hotel with dinner and B&B in Château de Creissels.

La Ligne Verte Mountainbike-hotel-tours

• Moderate off-the-road  biking.

• Active vacation tours mountain bike trips meant for those who prefer biking off the road and enjoy quite an amount of climbing. Taking the bike on the shoulder is reduced to a minimum.

• The tracks on the Causses (Limestone plateaus are on farmers roads, unpaved and marked for mtb trails. The tracks are flat to hilly on the plateaus; but to climb up the causse (elevation gains of 400m) you take paved roads. The tracks in the other parts (as the tracks of the M41) are  on single and double tracks marked for walking trips. These tracks are more difficult (more ups and downs of 50m elevation gains) therefore 40 km a day is the maximum. If you want we can adapt the trail to make it more difficult or lighter and shorter. No dirty roads, sometimes on rocky track. We can adapt the routes as you want.  We can make a tailored trip.

The weather in late July-early August is warm to hot (25-30 degrees Celsius). But on the Causses above 700m is is not that warm and in Tarn valley it is cooler too.
