I am an Australian woman currently teaching and living in South-west France. In May and June I plan to cycle in the south of France and then from Switzerland down the Rhine ending up in Paris. I have done some 4 days rides in Australia in a group which was very enjoyable. I would like to find a similar minded 40-55 year old person or people to join me for part or all of this ride.

I am a good but not a very fast rider, preferring to have some time to slow down and enjoy the countryside, the encounters and the cultural and historic life of the country I am in, and staying in simple accommodation along the way. I am a 62 year old single American(widower) male, looking for a hiking
partner for a hike in the south of France for  May  of 2006.  Dates are open
and fairly flexible. Route being considered is the Pyrnees/Cathares, but I
am flexible on that also.

I am an avid runner, and in good physical condition, but a novice hiker and
I prefer the safety and companionship not to mention the savings on the
single supplement of a fellow traveler who enjoys France as much as I do.
Although I prefer a female traveler, I am only looking for a companion to
share the trip with, nothing more.  I have been to many other parts of
France, but never to the Pyrennes region.  References are available if so
desired.

I have booked a walking tour with La Ligne Verte - specifically the
"Cathares - Pyrenees" tour. Because I am travelling alone and there is a
two person minimum requirement, I am in need of a walking companion(s). The
start date (firm) is Saturday, July 20 th, 2002 (I realize this is rather
short notice) and will run the length of the tour as advertised.

I am a 35 year old Canadian woman and I am reasonably fit. English is my
first language and I do speak some French. For the sake of clarity I am an
easy-going person, but I'm not looking for a 'soul mate' during this trip -
just a travelling companion who wants to take-in the fascinating history
and beauty of this region.
